A compact deciduous shrub, to around 90cm high, with sturdy, reddish stems and broadly oval, dark green leaves with serrated edges.
Long-flowering, producing cones of white flowers that mature to dark reddish pink by late summer.
Hydrangea can be deciduous or evergreen shrubs, or self-clinging climbers, with flowers in clusters usually comprising both small fertile and more showy sterile flowers; often good autumn colour.
