Designed to fit the BioPress Set 4000, this filter sponge set combines the blue and black sponges in a small, convenient space.The black filter sponges have the finest filtration properties, whilst the blue ones are rougher and trap larger particles.
The sponges also offer the beneficial bacteria plenty of living space. This small biological oasis in the filter sponges ensures the conversion of toxins in the pond.In the blue sponges, toxic substances are converted into harmless but algae-stimulating substances (nitrification), which in turn are converted into naturally occurring gases in the black ones (denitrification).
